In the frame of celebration of the 22-th anniversary of independence of Ukraine Consulate General of Ukraine in Guangzhou on August 28, 2013 held ound table" with representatives of official state institutions of Guangdong Province and Guangzhou City . On the Chinese side event was attended by representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the People's Government of Guangdong Province (Consular Section, Department of International Relations), Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province, Bureau of Foreign Trade and International Cooperation of Guangzhou Municipality, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Guangdong Province, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Guangzhou City, the Union of International Technical Cooperation of Guangdong Province with the CIS countries.
In the course of the "round table" it was stressed on the expansion of cooperation between Ukraine and China, one of the evidence of which was the opening of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Guangzhou in 2013.
During the event Ukrainian diplomats discussed some issues of interaction with the Chinese authorities in the consular , trade- economic, scientific -technical and humanitarian spheres.
Representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the People's Government of Guangdong Province expressed their willingness to assist the Consulate General in dealing with various issues that concern the Ukrainian citizen in Guangdong Province.
It was agreed about regular consultations in order to provide assistance in the development of joint cooperation between Guangdong Province and Kiev region, which has sister-province relationship with this Chinese province, assistance in organizing mutual visits of businessmen and scientists of the two countries as well as in finding business partners . Also it was agreed to exchange information about plans for international exhibitions in the two countries.
Separately was discussed scientific and technical cooperation. Union of Scientific and Technological Cooperation of Guangdong Province with CIS countries expressed interest in further cooperation with Ukraine.
