On 23 February, the head office of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission was visited by a delegation of Chinese business representatives who continue cooperation with Ukrainian partners despite the ongoing hostilities, visit Ukraine, supply essential goods and equipment, and provide assistance.
To honor Ukraine, a distinguished artist from Guangdong Province, Mr. Huang, presented Consul General Serhii Kapuzo with a painting specially created to commemorate the 4th anniversary of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The artwork symbolizes the friendship between the Chinese and Ukrainian peoples.
On 24 February, members of the Ukrainian community of the consular district gathered at the Consulate General of Ukraine. A moment of silence was observed in memory of fallen defenders of Ukraine.
Ukrainian citizens and their children, together with Ukrainian diplomats, held discussions during which the events surrounding the outbreak and course of the war were addressed. Children were shown photo albums documenting the war, while adults provided detailed explanations of the causes of Russia’s military aggression, as well as the resilience and strength of the Ukrainian people and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their struggle for independence, freedom, and sovereignty.
The community also discussed the results achieved and future plans for providing humanitarian and other assistance to vulnerable groups of the Ukrainian population and to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On 24 February, Mr. Xi visited the Consulate General. He is an authorized representative of Shenzhen Flight Energy and Executive Director of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Council Economic and Trade Cooperation Exchange Center, which plans to implement investment projects in Ukraine, including the construction of industrial facilities and participation in infrastructure recovery.
In addition, the Chinese entrepreneur is engaged in arranging the delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including 100 diesel heaters and 20 diesel generators, which is scheduled to be dispatched in the near future. Chinese business representatives also honored the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine and expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in their struggle against the aggressor.
Heads of several diplomatic missions of Ukraine’s partner countries accredited in Guangzhou also visited the Consulate General of Ukraine. As part of the commemoration of the 4th anniversary of the full-scale aggression, a joint event of the Consulates General of Denmark and Ukraine in Guangzhou is planned, during which the film Porcelain War will be screened. Heads of diplomatic missions of Ukraine’s partner countries have been invited to attend.
The Consul General of Ukraine in Guangzhou, Serhii Kapuzo, sent personal letters of appreciation to all Consuls General whose countries have supported Ukraine throughout the four years of Russia’s full-scale aggression, as well as to the staff of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Guangzhou, Ukrainian citizens, and Ukrainian service members.
