Diplomats of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Guangzhou held an online meeting with the leadership of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council under the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
During the meeting, Deputy Chair of the Ukrainian part of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council and member of the Supervisory Board of Silk Bridge Capital, Oksana Osmachko, briefed the participants on the process of relaunching the activities of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council. The inaugural meeting of the Ukrainian part of the Council took place on 16 February 2026.
The main objective of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council is to promote the development of Ukrainian-Chinese trade and economic relations and to create favorable conditions for joint mutually beneficial activities. The Council will function as a permanent platform for coordinating business initiatives between Ukraine and the People’s Republic of China; developing joint projects in the fields of investment, industrial cooperation and innovation; representing the interests of Ukrainian business in cooperation with Chinese trade and economic structures; and participating in activities aimed at promoting the development of bilateral economic ties.
According to Oksana Osmachko, Ukrainian companies that have existing or planned cooperation projects with partners in the PRC; conduct or plan to conduct foreign economic activity with the People’s Republic of China; and are interested in developing systematic and institutional cooperation with the Chinese business community have been invited to join the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council.
During the meeting, heads of several areas of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council also delivered brief presentations on their activities and plans for the implementation of specific projects.
Consul General of Ukraine in Guangzhou Serhiy Kapuzo welcomed the resumption of the Council’s activities and expressed confidence in the effectiveness of its mechanism. In turn, representatives of the diplomatic mission briefly informed their colleagues about the current state and prospects for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the provinces of the consular district and Ukraine. The participants also discussed specific projects and intentions of Chinese companies regarding cooperation with Ukrainian partners.
The parties agreed to hold regular online meetings to coordinate actions aimed at facilitating the rapid and effective development of economic cooperation between Ukraine and the People’s Republic of China.
