On 3 June 2026, diplomats of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Guangzhou attended a formal reception marking the 250th anniversary of the Independence Day of the United States of America.

During the ceremony, welcoming remarks were delivered by H.E. Mr. David Perdue, Ambassador of the United States to the People’s Republic of China; Ms. Pauline Kao, Consul General of the United States in Guangzhou; and Ms. Zhang Guozhi, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province.

Ukrainian diplomats personally congratulated the Ambassador and the Consul General of the United States on the occasion, wished the United States of America and the American people success, development and prosperity, and expressed gratitude for their unwavering support for Ukraine.

The Consul General of Ukraine in Guangzhou, Mr. Serhii Kapuzo, held separate brief conversations with H.E. Mr. David Perdue, Ambassador of the United States to the PRC, and Ms. Pauline Kao, Consul General of the United States in Guangzhou. During the conversations, the American diplomats were once again thanked for the support provided to Ukraine by the Government and the people of the United States. In turn, the U.S. Ambassador expressed his personal support for the Ukrainian people, wished Ukraine success, and voiced his hope for the earliest possible restoration of peace in Ukraine.

During the event, a number of brief meetings were also held with other representatives of the U.S. diplomatic service, members of the diplomatic corps in Guangzhou, representatives of local authorities, heads of major international companies and public organizations. The discussions focused on selected current issues of international politics, Ukrainian-Chinese and U.S.-Chinese cooperation in various fields, as well as other matters of mutual interest.
