On March 17 and 18, 2026, diplomats of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Guangzhou held negotiations with representatives of 12 Chinese companies that had approached the Ukrainian diplomatic mission with proposals to discuss their plans for cooperation with Ukraine.

During their presentations, the representatives of the Chinese businesses informed the diplomats about the activities of their companies. Their main areas of activity include trade, transport, construction, design and engineering, and manufacturing/industrial production.

The company representatives stated that they are prepared to form a joint delegation to visit Ukraine in order to study a wide range of issues, including the investment climate, the security situation, and relevant legislative regulations, as well as to hold talks with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and the private business sector.

Chinese private commercial entities see significant potential for the development of Ukraine’s construction and trade markets after the end of hostilities and are interested in securing their place in these promising future areas of activity.

As a result of the meeting, a plan of specific actions was developed for the further implementation of the above-mentioned proposals.

The Consul General of Ukraine in Guangzhou, Serhii Kapuzo, proposed that the Chinese side submit official letters to the Consulate General containing proposals and business plans regarding investment and participation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.

Representatives of the Chinese business structures agreed with the proposed plan of action and confirmed their readiness to undertake all the necessary preparatory measures in the near future.
