As of now, a total of 6 imported cases have been confirmed in Guangdong. The increasing risks of imported poses amount to new challenges to Guangdong’s endeavor against the epidemic. As a move to manage imported cases of COVID-19 at the current stage, Guangdong has adjusted the countries applicable for special measures on epidemic prevention. Entering into effect on March 13, the list adds Germany, France, the US and Spain, while South Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan remain. 

The special measures are:

1. All individuals with a traveling or residence history in the countries mentioned above within 14 days before entering Guangdong, regardless of nationality, are subject to home-based or concentrated quarantine for medical observation.

2. The prevention and control policies are subject to dynamic adjustment by competent authorities of Guangdong in line with the actual epidemic situation. The new policies shall prevail the old versions.

The Foreign Affairs Office will continue to inform the consulates on the development of the epidemic situation, prevention and control measures and relevant regulations and guidelines through appropriate forms.
